Certificates: Quality comes first for krafton®
We want to offer customers the best solutions available. The many certificates and approvals awarded to us by leading European institutes confirm this: DIBt- Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik, TÜV Rheinland and EBA-Eisenbahn Bundesamt, TNO and UCL. Obviously, we produce our standard profiles according to NEN13706-E23, the European standard for ‘Reinforced plastics composites – Specifications for pultruded profiles’.
We understand quality to mean delivering premium products for a good price. Our well-organised internal processes maintain quality at a consistent level. The result is what counts.
Certified production of krafton® FRP Profiles
Our long-standing experience in producing fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) profiles guarantees consistently high product quality. However, quality must be checked on a permanent basis. We perform in-house tests using advanced ZwickRoell material testing systems and other equipment to assess the mechanical performance of our profiles and planks against the specified standards.
We apply a well-designed and proven quality management system to monitor quality throughout the process, from the selection of the raw materials right up to the finished product. Our quality control procedures are designed to assess our FRP products based on the applications.
In addition to our quality checks in the factory, SKZ performs a six-monthly external audit of the production facility and processes. This is an extra guarantee of reliability and quality.
Our profiles meet the highest quality standards, and this achievement is reflected by our many quality certificates and many satisfied customers. We have performed thousands of tests on our GRP profiles in order to obtain approvals, such as those awarded to us by DIBt and EBA.
A golden rule for krafton® is: “We make no concessions when it comes to the quality of our products”.
In addition, good communication and collaboration with our customers and suppliers play a key role in ensuring that we always offer optimal solutions based on our customers’ requirements.
Approvals and Certificates

European Standard EN 13706: 2002
The European EN 13706 standard – Reinforced plastics composites, specifications for pultruded profiles – covers structures where the load-bearing capacity is an essential criterion and the profiles are used to provide support.
The standard specifies the minimum requirements for quality, surface characteristics, tolerances and strength and stiffness values in two classes:
- E23 – for the most demanding applications
- E17 – for less critical applications.
The standard comprises three parts:
- EN 13706-1: Classification and labelling/marking of structural profiles according to a mould and reinforcement material, surface treatment, etc.
- EN 13706-2: test methods, tolerances and guidelines for quality control.
- EN 13706-3: minimal technical requirements for the two classes defined by the standard.
All krafton® structural profiles meet or exceed the requirements of E23.

DIBt certificate Z-10.9-655: krafton® FRP Bridge Decking Components
Most of our krafton® FRP Bridge decking components and fitting methods are DIBt-certified.
The Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik/DIBt, the German centre of expertise for building technology, issues general building standards conformity certificates (abZ) for building materials and designs, and also issues European Technical Assessments (ETA) for building materials and construction equipment.
The general building standards conformity approvals are a reliable indicator of the suitability and applicability of building materials in respect of the structural requirements for buildings and civil engineering structures.
European technical assessments are issued for building materials that fall within the scope of the EU construction products regulation. They evaluate the performance of a building material.
The DIBt approval for krafton® GRP bridge decking elements, types 256.40, 500.40, 500.55, 400.85 and the associated fitting methods is valid until August 2022.

DIBt certificate Z-10.9-803: krafton® FRP Profiles for the construction industry
The German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt), as a German certification body, issues general building approvals (abZ) for building materials and designs and also issues European Technical Assessments (ETA) for building materials and building equipment. The general building inspection approvals are a highly reliable proof of the suitability and applicability of building materials with regard to structural requirements for constructions.
All krafton® GRP profiles with a wall thickness of 5 mm or more are included in the DIBt approval Z-10.9-803:

TÜV Rheinland LGA
We test our wear layers with every production batch in our factory. This ensures that our wear layers enable long-term and safe use. In addition, we have had our wear layers certified by TÜV Rheinland LGA. Below are the test certificates for the anti-slip layer of krafton® GRP floor panels:

EBA Approval
To ensure that our GRP profiles can also be used for railways and Deutsche Bahn, we offer GRP profiles with EBA approval (21.51-21izbia/030-2101#008-(011/18-ZUL)). We are certified for the German Railways in accordance with DBS 918010. All krafton® GRP profiles with a wall thickness of 3 mm or more and planks are included in the approval. We are proud to be the only supplier with such a broad approval!
